HISTORY & GEOGRAPHY SOURCES:

Please note: All of the sites listed here offer free lessons & activities. Some do require you to register, but do not charge a fee to do so. Some also have additional "premium content" that does require a paid subscription. It is up to you to decide whether you feel that content would be worth the price.

The World FactBook - produced yearly, the FactBook is an encyclopedia of information about all the nations of the world, provided for free by the CIA. (Yes, *the* CIA!).

www.internet4classrooms.com - free links broken down by subject matter, for grades K - 8. (History links are found under the Social Studies heading.)

For those interested in creating History Notebooks*, you can find more information here:

www.notebookingpages.com - notebooking information and page sets. Some are available for free.

www.historyscribe.com - pre-made notebooking pages for sale, covering a variety of historical events. "History Scholar" is available for high schoolers so the site now covers all grades. Free samples are available.

*Notebooking is the concept of allowing children to build their own "library" of books from knowledge they've gained. Notebooks can contain timelines, biographies, maps, drawings, summaries and more.
